Starrett Telescoping Gage Set The No. 579 Series is similar to the No. 229 Series except that it has a slightly greater range, and the handles are rigidly attached to the contact plungers and are automatically self-centering. Also, the No. 579 gages have two telescoping contacts. Constant spring tension gives uniform contact pressure and both plungers are easily locked at any desired setting

Reading is retained even if the indicator is turned off. • T.I.R.: Displays the difference between the highest and lowest values reached • Floating Reference: Allows you to set the absolute/preset number at any spindle position • Tolerancing: Permits the entering of high and low tolerances. When tolerances are exceeded, the display will flash.
